appears to exist in this department of the reply which you

were instructed, in my despatch under reference, to addre sa

to the Fortuguese Government on the subject of the supply

of opium to Macao, and I shall accordingly be glad if you

will fornish me with a copy of your communication and of

any further correspondence which took place at that time.
